Google Doodle Contest for June 4th Commemoration:
CPFC/IFC sponsored public memorial event for the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen Massacre
This year will mark the 25th anniversary of the June 4, 1989, Tiananmen Massacre in Beijing. In remembrance of the horrific tragedy of that day and in commemoration of the fearless spirit of those who gave their lives for their ideals and their country, Citizen Power for China/Initiatives for China (CPFC/IFC) has submitted a Google doodle (see image below) to the company with the hope that it can be displayed on Google’s main page on June 4th as a reminder to people around the world of this day that is carved in history with bullets, blood, fire and courage.
CPFC now asks you to join our effort by creating and submitting your own Google doodle during our “Google Doodle Contest for 6/4 Commemoration”.
Doodles are regularly featured on Google’s home search page and incorporate innovative artistic designs that transform Google’s logo to celebrate major holidays, commemorate important anniversaries, and remember historic figures such as artists, pioneers, and scientists. Considering that the Google webpage is used over 1 billion times every day, CPFC/IFC believes that using a Google doodle to commemorate the 6/4 massacre is a meaningful way to mark this anniversary. To encourage more people to come up with great doodles, IFC/CPFC will award the following prizes to the top doodlers:
$500 for One First Prize Winner,
$300 for Two Second Prize Winners
$100 for three Third Prize Winners
$300 for Two Second Prize Winners
$100 for three Third Prize Winners
Participants must submit their Google doodles, before June 4, 2014, to Google at the following email address: proposals@google.com. They should also send a copy to CPFC at danielgong@initiativesforchina.org. CPFC/IFC will invite experts to judge and select the winners.
