After shaving event, Dr Yang Jianli, Dr Han Lianchao, Dr Wang Jianying, and Xiao Guozhen talked to the media, stating that there is no legal basis for having Liu Xia under house arrest. Only she is the wife of Liu Xiaobo. Such a brutal violation of basic human rights must be condemned. They call for the general public who cares for the human rights cause, and China’s democratization issues shall work together to improve her living conditions, and help win her early freedom.
The Chinese Embassy remains closed and silent during the March 7 event.
